  • Implementation of Supply Chain Innovations, e.g. Order-To-Cash automization as well as Product Innovations like Phthalate Free Plasticizers (Tolling, Sourcing, Introduction, In-Sourcing, scaleup)

Avery Dennison

Senior Global Operations and Supply Chain Director Graphics, Tapes, Medical

  • Introduction of 2 new growth platforms from a supply point of view in the Medical device industry in US (wearable sensors) and Europe (CHG antimicrobial injection tapes)

  • Managing the divisions Global Operations & Supply Chain by developing and implementing manufacturing and supply chain strategies that reduce lead time and optimize total delivered cost. Directly responsible to deliver best practice KPI’s on a global basis (>1000 employees; $300 million budget; $900 Million Trade Sales) as well as growth according to Strategic Plan.

  • Negotiation and implementation of a global contract with a new key customer which resulted in a 5 year and $300MM profitable turnover agreement with a $100MM annual turnover as of year four.

  • Closure and restructuring of several sites worldwide (US, EU) including works council and union negotiations, press management & communications and product moves

  • Organizational restructuring including product consolidation which has led to a direct labor reduction of 20% in Europe and US within the Graphics & Reflective business.

  • Global introduction of Enterprise Lean Sigma in all Supply Chain & Manufacturing functions

10/2004 – 12/2008      Operations & Supply Chain Director Office & Consumer Products Europe

        Germany and Zug/Switzerland, Reporting: VP/GM OCP Europe, Avery Dennison

  • Started as technical MD “Geschäftsführer” (P&L responsibility) Germany and managed a site restructuring from 240 FTE down to 150 FTE in 2 years. Successful introduction of Lean Manufacturing technologies which led to reduced lead times, different layouts and leaner logistics.

  • Promotion to Director accountable for 4 production sites in Europe with $300M/a turnover. Introduction of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma system (ELS - Enterprise Lean Sigma) into the OCP business. Closure of a manufacturing site in France and transition of the operation into UK. Closure of 2 sites in UK.

  • Managing the entire Pampers Operations Planning as Department Manager Planning Europe with a turnover of > $3billion. Implementation of working capital reductions and strategic product moves between European locations.

  • Operations Manager responsible for 300 employees. Implementation of organizational changes for new Initiatives. Installation and start up of 8 new production lines (80 million € investment).  TPM implementation, Autonomous and Preventive Maintenance, Continuous improvement.

  • Start as Continuous Improvement Manager. Continuous improvement in Brionne Plant, France (2 months). Manufacturing Representative for a new Initiative in Cincinnati/Ohio. Knowledge and Skills transfer and training of an international Team in Warsaw, Poland and in Euskirchen, Germany.
